Offensive Player of the Week, while Tuskegee's

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jyron Russell, Edward Waters University

Grand Prairie's very own Jyron Russell continues to shine brightly as a quarterback for Edward Waters University. Russell showcased his exceptional skills in a thrilling showdown against Lane College by notching three touchdowns and racking up an impressive 305 passing yards. His stellar performance reaffirms his pivotal role as an invaluable asset to the Tigers' success on the gridiron.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Christian Ramsey, Tuskegee University

In an impressive display of defensive prowess, junior safety Christian Ramsey played a pivotal role in Tuskegee's triumphant 40-28 victory over Morehouse this past Saturday. Ramsey's stellar performance featured a career-high nine tackles, eight of which were solo efforts. Additionally, he notched two interceptions for the season, both of which he returned for 47 yards. Ramsey's contributions were instrumental in securing the Golden Tigers' victory, solidifying his reputation as a key defensive asset for the team.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Daniel Gibbs, Fort Valley State University

Daniel Gibbs showcased remarkable skill on Saturday night, delivering a performance that exemplified his unwavering consistency. Kicking off the evening with a season-long 41-yard field goal, Gibbs set the tone for Fort Valley State University's scoring. Not stopping there, he continued to impress by converting all five of his PATs with pinpoint accuracy. In addition to his scoring precision, Gibbs booted six kick-offs, collectively covering an impressive 328 yards, averaging a remarkable 54.7 yards per kick.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – Christopher Roberson, Tuskegee University

Christopher Roberson, the junior quarterback for the Golden Tigers, ignited a stunning offensive performance last Saturday as he came off the bench. Roberson's remarkable contributions included a flawless 3-for-3 passing record, amassing an impressive 98 yards, and connecting for a thrilling touchdown, highlighted by a remarkable 71-yard pass. Additionally, his versatility was on full display, rushing the ball eight times for 35 yards and punching in two more touchdowns. Roberson's dynamic presence off the bench undoubtedly turned the tide for the Golden Tiger offense.
