ATLANTA, GAThe Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced Football Players of the Week for Week 7 on Wednesday, October 18. Benedict's Aeneas Dennis was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Edward Waters' Jaren Wilson earned Defensive Player of the Week. Also recognized were Central State's Jose Chaires as Special Teams Player of the Week and Edward Waters' Nathan Rembert, who took home a second title as Newcomer of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aeneas Dennis, Benedict College
Quarterback | Graduate | Austell, Georgia

Dennis, the quarterback from Austell, delivered a standout performance for Benedict in their dominant 48-6 victory over Fort Valley State, which aired on ESPN. Dennis threw for an impressive 324 yards, completing 16-of-25 passes, and secured one passing touchdown while avoiding any interceptions. He also showcased his versatility by rushing for an additional touchdown. The game's highlight was a stunning 59-yard touchdown pass to Billy Pierre. Dennis's performance underscored his skill and leadership on the field.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jaren Wilson, Edward Waters University
Defensive End | Graduate | Jacksonville, Florida

In a standout performance of the season, Jaren Wilson played a pivotal role in Edward Waters' stunning 41-38 upset victory on the road against Tuskegee. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Wilson showcased his defensive prowess with an impressive stat line, tallying six total tackles, including two crucial tackles for loss, two sacks that disrupted Tuskegee's offensive rhythm, and a game-changing forced fumble. This fumble was promptly recovered in the end zone, resulting in the team's opening touchdown of the day. Wilson's exceptional contributions on both ends of the field were a driving force behind Edward Waters' triumph.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jose Chaires, Central State University

In an electrifying showdown against Savannah State University, Chaires displayed his exceptional skills, tallying an impressive 176 yards on six punts, with his longest punt reaching a remarkable 41 yards. Chaires didn't stop there, as he showcased his versatility by completing four kickoffs, amassing 228 yards. His precision and power on the field were undeniable, making him a standout performer in this thrilling matchup!

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – Nathan Rembert, Edward Waters University
Wide Receiver | Freshman | Eustis, Florida

Nathan Rembert's debut season while wearing the purple and orange jersey has been nothing less than extraordinary. In a recent game, he displayed his remarkable talent by receiving four outstanding catches, amassing 123 yards. One of these catches, an electrifying 85-yard play, not only enthralled the crowd but also served as a catalyst for a game-altering touchdown. This pivotal moment propelled the Tigers into their first lead of the match, solidifying Nathan's status as a standout performer.
