Tuskegee Women’s Basketball Draws Tampa in the First Round of NCAA Tournament

TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The NCAA Division II women's basketball selection show brought cheers and a reflection of accomplishments on Sunday night for Coach Trelanne Powell and her program as Tuskegee discovered their bracket next opponent. 

The season will continue for the Golden Tigers with a trip to Tampa, Florida to take on the top seeded Tampa in the South Region in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, on Friday March 10. 

Tuskegee capped off their perfect conference regular season of 20-0 with a SIAC Championship triumph on Saturday in Savannah, Ga. after defeating Miles 72-65. They also extended their overall winning streak to 17 straight games dating back to December 19, 2022.

It marks the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Golden Tigers since 2008.
