FORT VALLEY, GA (April 19, 2023) - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s (SIAC) second annual men’s volleyball championship tournament will be hosted by Fort Valley State University beginning Thursday, April 20 and concluding with the championship game on Friday, April 21.
Edward Waters will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Tigers finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. In the 33 sets Edward Waters played against SIAC competition, the Tigers only dropped three of those sets this season.
The championship tournament will open with No. 4 Fort Valley State (4-6) taking on No. 5 Kentucky State (2-8) at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday. At 1 p.m. ET, No. 3 Benedict (6-4) will face No. 6 Morehouse (0-10) for the second game of the day.
Game 3 will feature the No. 1 seed, Edward Waters (10-0), who will play the winner of the Fort Valley-Kentucky State game at 5 p.m. ET. The day will conclude with No. 2 seed, Central State (8-2), facing the winner of the Benedict-Morehouse game at 7 p.m. ET.
Championship matches will feature the winner of Game 3 and 4 and are scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
