ATLANTA, Ga. (July 28, 2023) – A record high, 1,650 student-athletes, was named to the 2022-2023 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner's All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2022-23 academic year.
Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.
Fifty-nine students from 13 institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average.
Miles College led all institutions in this year’s All-Academic Honors by capturing four all-academic team awards. The Golden Bears captured team awards in football, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s basketball. Kentucky State collected three all-academic team awards in women’s basketball, men’s golf, and men’s volleyball. Albany State University, Benedict College, and Lane College each captured two team awards.
