ALBANY, GA - The Albany State Golden Rams volleyball team improved to (2-0) in the conference after defeating the Allen University Yellow Jackets on Sunday afternoon at the Jones Brothers Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Complex.
With the win, the Golden Rams improved to (2-5) overall and (2-0) in the SIAC. The Yellow Jackets fell to (3-2) overall and (0-2) in the conference.
The Golden Rams won set 1 by the score of (25-16). After falling behind (22-19), the Golden Rams stormed back to win set 2 (25-23). In set 3, the Yellow Jackets won a spirited match by the score of (25-23) to force a set 4. The Golden Rams secured the victory by winning set 4 by the score of (25-18).
Jarianis Perez led the Golden Rams with 11 kills.
Kaylin Teasley recorded 7 aces in the game to lead the Golden Rams.
Khamari Trotter paced the Golden Rams with 3 blocks.
MiMi Harris had 19 assists, and
Sydney Melton finished with 16 digs.
The Golden Rams will be back in action against Clark-Atlanta University on Tuesday, September 12, in Atlanta, Georgia.
