Volleyball Players of the Week for Week 4 on Tuesday, September 26. Edward Waters'
Fatima Ramirez was named
Offensive Player of the Week, while Allen's
Myra Lopez was named
Defensive Player of the Week. Also recognized were Edward Waters'

Setter of the Week, and Central State's

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Fatima Ramirez, Edward Waters University
Outside Hitter/Opposite | Junior | Belmopan, Belize
Ramirez played a pivotal role in Edward Waters' undefeated week, which included a flawless 6-0 record, particularly shining during the SIAC Crossover. In the match against Benedict, Ramirez delivered 18 kills and 4 service aces, showcasing exceptional skill. Facing Central State, Ramirez's versatility was evident with 12 kills, 4 service aces, 3 blocks, 1 assist, and 4 digs. The LeMoyne-Owen match saw Ramirez notch 19 kills and 5 digs. Ramirez's standout performance against Lane included 22 kills, 9 service aces, 2 blocks, and 13 digs. In the clash with Kentucky State, Ramirez contributed with 15 kills, 1 block, and 6 digs, and in the battle against Miles, they recorded 16 kills, 2 service aces, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. Throughout the week, Ramirez's consistent excellence played a crucial role in Edward Waters' success, solidifying their position as a dominant force in collegiate sports.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Myra Lopez, Allen University
Def. Spec/Libero | Freshman | Mesa, Arizona
Lopez played a pivotal role in propelling Allen to a remarkable 3-2 weekend performance at the highly competitive SIAC Crossover tournament. Her standout moment came during a thrilling 5-set victory over Miles, where she etched her name into the school's history books by setting a new record with an astounding 43 digs. Throughout the tournament, Lopez showcased her exceptional skills, accumulating a total of 92 digs across five matches. Additionally, her all-around contribution to the team included 18 valuable assists and a remarkable 10 service aces, solidifying her as a true force to be reckoned with on the court.
SETTER OF THE WEEK – Mataiya Barber, Edward Waters University
Setter | Sophomore | Denton, Texas
In her sophomore year, Barber accomplished a remarkable feat by exceeding the 1000-assist milestone in her esteemed career. Her extraordinary playmaking abilities played a pivotal role in Edward Waters' exceptional performance, culminating in a flawless 6-0 week, notably going undefeated at the SIAC Crossover event.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – Casey Williams, Central State
Middle Blocker | Freshman | The Colony, Texas
Casey's remarkable performance as a freshman is consistently elevating her to the upper echelons of the SIAC. Her unwavering commitment to aggressive serving, formidable blocking, and relentless attacking has firmly established her as a force to be reckoned with in the league.
