Week 1: Cross Country Runners of the Week

ATLANTA, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced Runners of the Week for Week 1 on Thursday, September 7. Tuskegee University's Akierah Walker was named Female Runner of the Week, while Kentucky State's Roderic Walls was named Male Runner of the Week.
 
Female Runner of the Week – Akierah Walker, Tuskegee University
Freshman | Clinton, Mississippi

Tuskegee sophomore Akierah Walker competed in Jacksonville State's Foothills Invitational on Friday, September 1. Securing the Golden Tigers' top position, Walker finished at 17:34.7 during the 4k meet.
 
Male Runner of the Week – Roderic Walls, Kentucky State
Senior | Albany, Georgia

The KSU Thorobreds kicked off their season at the 2023 Berea Centre XC Jamboree on Friday, September 1. Walls set the team's fastest time during the meet, completing the 6k in 22:44.5.
