Clark Atlanta is returning to action after a bye. In week seven, the Panthers lost to Miles, 49-28, after putting up a season-high four turnovers that the Golden Bears were able to turn into 21 points.

Tuskegee extended its winning streak to five after posting a 30-14 road victory over Central State last week. The Golden Tigers’ defense held the Marauders to only two first downs in the first half while the offense recorded a season-high three rushing touchdowns. Kicker Lorcan Ryans went 3-for-3 in PATs and made a 28-yard field goal, earning him SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Both teams have identical records against common opponents (Central State, Lane and Savannah State) this season.

Team Standings: Clark Atlanta (5-2-1, 4-2 SIAC); Tuskegee (5-3, 5-1 SIAC)

FORT VALLEY STATE VS. BENEDICT – TheGrio
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. ET

Fort Valley State will welcome Benedict to Wildcat Stadium for senior day.

Last week, the Wildcats commanded the second half to spoil Morehouse’s homecoming after the Maroon Tigers shrunk the lead to one point going into halftime. Fort Valley State’s defense held Morehouse to negative 38 rushing yards on 29 attempts.

Benedict picked up its fifth loss of the season against Miles last week. The Tigers fell two touchdowns behind in the second quarter and were unable to make up the deficit after halftime in the 26-14 loss.

Fort Valley State holds the advantage against common opponents (Edward Waters, Morehouse, Allen and Kentucky State) this season with its 42-0 victory over Kentucky State in week two. The Tigers fell, 23-21, to the Thorobreds on the road in week six.

The Tigers have bested the Wildcats in the last two contests, including the 48-6 victory at home last season.

Game History: 24-9 Fort Valley (since 1946)

Team Standings: Fort Valley State (5-3, 5-1 SIAC); Benedict (3-5, 3-3 SIAC)

ALLEN VS. CENTRAL STATE – ESPN+
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. ET

Allen will host Central State at Westwood High School for Homecoming.

Allen’s misfortunes continued last week in the 23-20 loss at Kentucky State. The Yellow Jackets had a real chance at their first conference win this season, but their fourth-quarter comeback fell short when the offense went three and out on its final possession.

Last week, Central State could not overcome the team’s slow start in the 30-14 defeat to Tuskegee. The Marauders’ offense struggled to move the ball in the first half, not reaching the end zone until halfway through the third quarter.

Both squads share the same record against common opponents (Albany State, Clark Atlanta and Miles).

Allen recorded the win when the two teams met last season. Since rejoining the SIAC in 2020, the Yellow Jackets have only lost to Central State once.

Game History: 2-1 Allen (since 2021)

Team Standings: Allen (1-7, 0-6 SIAC); Central State (1-7, 1-5 SIAC)

MILES VS. MOREHOUSE – ESPN+
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. ET

Miles will host Morehouse at Albert J. Sloan–Alumni Stadium in its last home game of the season.

Miles extended its winning streak at Benedict in a 26-14 victory last week to maintain its top spot in SIAC standings. The Golden Bears’ offense recorded a season-high 449 yards in total offense with more than 200 yards in the air and on the ground, respectively. Quarterback Kamren Ivory went 17-25 for 243 yards with 2 touchdowns, and he led the team in rushing with 62 yards to earn SIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Morehouse remains in a slump after losing its homecoming game to Fort Valley State last week. The Maroon Tigers had the momentum going into halftime but fell flat in the second half allowing 21 unanswered points.

Miles has fared better against common opponents (Albany State and Benedict) this season remaining undefeated in the SIAC, while Morehouse dropped both matchups.

Miles has not lost to Morehouse since 2018, putting up double-digit wins each time.

Game History: 6-3 Miles (since 2010)

Team Standings: Miles (6-2, 6-0 SIAC); Morehouse (1-7, 1-5 SIAC)

SAVANNAH STATE VS. ALBANY STATE – No stream available
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. ET

Savannah State will host Albany State at T.A. Wright Stadium for senior day.

The Tigers fell to .500 after losing a homecoming heartbreaker to Lane in overtime last week. Savannah State held a 14-point lead late in the third, but untimely turnovers allowed the Dragons to creep back into the game and force overtime. The Tigers’ miscues continued in overtime, losing the game on a missed PAT after matching Lane’s touchdown in their first possession.

Albany State came up with the victory after falling behind early against Edward Waters at home. The Golden Rams took the lead in the final seconds before halftime and never looked back, winning 42-34. Defensive lineman Abraham Clinkscales recorded a season-high eight tackles with three for loss, and running back Taint Wyche went for 71 yards on the ground, including a bulldozing 15-yard touchdown run. The player's performances earned them SIAC Defensive Player and Newcomer of the Week honors, respectively.

Against common opponents (Central State and Edward Waters) this season, Albany State holds the advantage with its week three, 28-7, win over Central State. The week prior, Savannah State lost to the Marauders at home, 10-3.

The Golden Rams have only lost to Savannah State once since the Tigers rejoined the SIAC in 2019. Last season, the game between the two was a defensive battle, with both defenses giving up only one touchdown in Albany State’s 14-12 victory.

Game History: 5-1 Albany State (since 2010)

Team Standings: Savannah State (4-4, 3-3 SIAC); Albany State (5-3, 5-1 SIAC)

LANE VS. EDWARD WATERS – No stream available
Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. ET

Lane will host Edward Waters at Lane Field in the team’s final home game.

The Dragons look to add to their first win streak of the season after a 28-27 overtime win at Savannah State last week. Lane was down by 14 points late in the third quarter when the defense forced two turnovers that led to subsequent touchdowns to put the team back in the game. The overtime win was a season-best outing for the defense that recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

Edward Waters suffered a 42-34 loss at Albany State last week. The Tigers took an early lead after the defense forced two fumbles in the first quarter, but they struggled to get off the field in the second quarter allowing 21 points. The offense struggled to reach the endzone, settling for field goals and hindering the comeback.

Lane has the best record against common opponents (Benedict, Tuskegee and Savannah State) this season, beating Benedict and Savannah State.

Last season, Edward Waters beat Lane, 37-30, for the first time since rejoining the SIAC.
