ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 8, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week.

Miles’ Aaliyah Sanders were recognized.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MORIAH SEAY, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter | Senior | Prattville, Ala.
Seay had a phenomenal week, leading the Golden Tigers' offense and defense. Over 17 sets, she recorded 55 kills (2.82 kills per set) on 182 attempts for a hitting percentage of .175. Defensively, she added 11 total blocks and 43 digs, showing her all-around ability. Her standout match came against Kentucky State, where she notched 19 kills and 5 block assists in a five-set thriller, while helping Tuskegee go 4-1 on the week.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – AALIYAH SANDERS, MILES COLLEGE
Defensive Specialist | Senior | Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Sanders averaged 17.8 digs per match and 4.45 digs per set as Miles went 2-3 overall this past week. She had a season-high 25 digs in a four-set defeat against Kentucky State, then added 23 more in a five-set win over Lane.
SETTER OF THE WEEK – MIKEA ALLEN, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Setter | Junior | Montgomery, Ala.
Allen was the key facilitator of the Tuskegee offense, dishing out 101 assists over 16 sets (6.31 assists per set). She also added 7 service aces and 41 digs (2.56 digs per set). Allen’s play was pivotal in the Golden Tigers’ four victories on the week, particularly in the win over Central State, where she recorded a season-high 45 assists and 2 blocks.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – LAUREN CANADY, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter | Junior | Birmingham, Ala.
Canady was instrumental in both the attack and defense for Tuskegee. She recorded 55 kills (2.47 kills per set) on 137 attempts with a hitting percentage of .290. Canady also contributed 52 digs (2.94 digs per set), showcasing her ability to play a strong all-around game. The junior had three games of 10+ kills on the week, with her best performance being against Central State, where she tallied 15 kills and 9 digs to help the Golden Tigers secure a victory. Her play helped Tuskegee go 4-1 on the week.
