Seay collected 28 digs over the two matches, averaging 4.00 digs per set, and provided crucial defensive coverage that kept rallies alive and frustrated the opposing hitters. Her court awareness and ability to read the game have been invaluable for the Golden Tigers, helping to neutralize the offensive threats from both LaGrange and Miles. Against the Panthers, the senior recorded eight kills, an ace and 26 digs.
SETTER OF THE WEEK – LAIANI MCCULLOUGH, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Setter | Senior | Beaufort, S.C.
McCullough led the offense, but her big accomplishment of the week was surpassing 1500 career assists when she had 23 against Savannah State on Friday night. She now stands at 1,526 for her career for the week in 13 sets. McCullough had 70 assists, 5 kills, an ace, 20 digs and 3 total blocks.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – MA’KAYLA JONES, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Middle Blocker | Senior | Thomasville, Ala.
Jones amassed 20 kills across the two matches, showcasing remarkable efficiency with a .485 hitting percentage. Her offensive presence was matched by her defensive prowess, as she added nine total blocks to her stat line, including several momentum-shifting plays against Miles. Jones’ versatility and ability to impact both sides of the ball have added a new dimension to the Golden Tigers’ lineup, making her a standout newcomer this season.
