MEMPHIS, Tenn. —
Shemani Fuller posted his second consecutive double-double as
Clark Atlanta edged
LeMoyne-Owen 66-64 on Saturday afternoon in a nail-biter at Bruce Hall Gymnasium. The Panthers extended their winning streak to six games, improving to 8-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in SIAC play.
Fuller anchored the Panthers with 18 points and 10 rebounds while shooting an efficient 8-of-14 from the field. His presence in the paint was vital, particularly down the stretch, as Clark Atlanta fought off a spirited comeback from the Magicians.
Jalen Williams contributed 15 points, including two critical three-pointers, and added three steals.
Martez Jones chipped in nine points and nine rebounds, helping the Panthers maintain an edge on the boards.
Clark Atlanta built an early lead with a strong first-half performance, heading into halftime up 33-28. Their balanced attack in the paint and beyond the arc kept LeMoyne-Owen's defense on its heels. The Panthers dominated inside, scoring 38 points in the paint and converting seven second-chance opportunities into points.
LeMoyne-Owen made a push in the second half, narrowing the deficit and forcing the game to be decided in the final moments. However, Clark Atlanta's defense came through in key moments, forcing 12 turnovers that translated into 12 points.
The Panthers also excelled at the free-throw line, hitting 13 of 16 attempts, which proved crucial in securing the narrow victory.
