Benedict Lady Tigers edge LeMoyne-Owen, 62-61

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Alaysia Nash scored a layup with four seconds left to lift the Benedict College women's basketball team to a 62-61 victory over LeMoyne-Owen College on Monday night in a SIAC contest.
 
Benedict, now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC, trailed 55-49 with 5:32 left in the game. The Lady Tigers tied the game at 55-55 after a jumper by Kaya Evans. The Lady Magicians (1-7 overall, 0-2 SIAC) retook the lead on a jumper before Nash hit a 3-pointer to give Benedict a 58-57 lead with 2:48 remaining. The two teams traded baskets in the final minute, with Nash scoring the game-winner.

Taylor Christmas led Benedict with 13 points and nine rebounds. Ciara Hardy added 12 points and Nash chipped in 10 points.
