The Marauders struggled to break through Albany State's tough "Dirty Blue Defense" and remained scoreless throughout the first quarter. Finally, at the 12:54 mark of the second quarter, Central State found a breakthrough and managed to get on the board, bringing the score to 7-7 and shifting momentum their way.

Albany State quickly responded when Knowles threw a 14-yard laser pass down the middle, connecting with wide receiver Devin Dorsey for a touchdown, reclaiming the lead at 14-7. Despite the Marauders' efforts to counter, they struggled to find their rhythm. The Golden Rams' defense was relentless, limiting Central State to just one score for the entire game.

In the third quarter, Albany State continued to dominate. A precise 18-yard pass to Xavier Herndon extended the Golden Rams' lead to 21-7, putting pressure on Central State to find answers. The Marauders, desperate to convert on crucial plays, failed on a critical fourth-down attempt, squandering their chance to keep the drive alive.
