ALBANY, Ga. —
Lane College claimed a 58-48 victory over
Albany State on Thursday night, in a hard-fought game held at the West Campus Arena in Albany, Georgia. The win improves Lane College's record to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in SIAC play, while Albany State falls to 4-6 and 1-4 in the conference.
The game started with Albany State leading 11-10 after the first quarter, but Lane College took control in the second, outscoring their opponents 19-16 to take a 29-27 lead into halftime. Lane College continued their strong play in the third, extending their lead with a solid 18-point effort while holding Albany State to just 9 points. The fourth quarter saw both teams battle hard, but Lane College held on to secure the 58-48 victory.
KEY PERFORMERS
- Taylor Lattimore (Lane College): Lattimore was the standout player of the game, contributing 17 points and 4 rebounds to go along with 4 steals.
- Chantoryia Rivers (Lane College): Rivers added 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals.
- Erica Richardson (Lane College): Richardson added 9 points and 4 rebounds, including key contributions from beyond the arc, where she shot 2-of-5 from three-point range.
- Dyani Bernstine (Lane College): Bernstine finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds, playing a vital role in the rebounding effort and providing valuable scoring from the free-throw line, where she was 6-of-8.
- Keyra Peterson (Albany State): Peterson led Albany State with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
- Na'Haviya Paxton (Albany State): Paxton contributed 10 points and 4 assists in the loss.
