Savannah State Wins Fourth Straight, Takes Down LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tenn.Savannah State won their fourth match in a row, following their 3-1 win over LeMoyne-Owen at the SIAC Crossover on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers lost the first set 25-23 but won the next three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-5.

In the four sets, SSU had more kills (53-22), assists (52-27) and digs (69-46).

Nyalah Smith had 13 kills while Aaliyah Saunders and Savannah Everett had ten each.

Saniaa Dickey and Kira Raby added three aces each while Iyonna Pike had two blocks and Amiyah Walker finished with 43 assists.

Dickey had 16 digs, Walker had 13 and Raby and Mya McCall chipped in 12 a piece.

The win improves SSU to 11-4 overall and 7-2 in the SIAC.

Savannah State will return home October 15 to face Clark Atlanta at 6 p.m.
