Kentucky State Rolls Past Edward Waters in Dominate 42-14 Homecoming Victory

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Freshman Chad Elzy Jr. found the end zone three times as Kentucky State rolled past Edward Waters in a dominant 42-14 Homecoming victory Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Stadium.
 
Elzy Jr. powered the Thorobreds' offense with 154 rushing yards and three touchdowns, leading a ground attack that produced four rushing scores overall. Jaylen Middleton added 58 yards on the ground and a touchdown to cap the rushing performance.
 
Quarterbacks Torrence Bardell and Denim Johnson combined for 252 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jon McCall led all receivers with five catches for 162 yards, including a touchdown reception.
 
Defensively, Kentucky State held the Tigers to just 71 rushing yards and kept their receiving corps out of the end zone. Navy Curry anchored the defense with eight tackles and a forced fumble in the fourth quarter.
