SIAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors: Nov. 25

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 25, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Tuskegee University's Shemaiah Mackin and Arianna Durrell were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SHEMAIAH MACKIN, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Center | Senior | Columbus, Ga.
Mackin delivered one of the strongest all-around performances in the SIAC this week, averaging 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game across Tuskegee’s two conference victories. She totaled 34 points and 23 rebounds, shooting an efficient 60 percent from the field while anchoring Tuskegee’s interior presence on both ends. Mackin opened the week with 20 points and 12 rebounds against Fort Valley State and followed with another double-figure scoring performance in the win over Clark Atlanta.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – ARIANNA DURRELL, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Senior | Clinton, Miss.
Durrell put together an impressive week, averaging 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.5 steals while playing over 34 minutes per game. Her biggest performance came against Clark Atlanta, where she scored 20 points, knocked down four three-pointers, and sparked Tuskegee’s 27-point fourth quarter with the go-ahead basket that gave TU its first lead of the game. Durrell’s defensive activity, totaling seven steals for the week, and her clutch shot-making on Saturday highlight her as one of the conference’s top emerging newcomers.
