The
Clark Atlanta University women's basketball team took the trip up to Columbia, S.C. to face the
Benedict College Tigers on Tuesday evening and returned with an 81-79 road win to secure their first win of the season.
Atreonia Garner led all scores with a game-high 21 points followed by three other Lady Panthers in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams found themselves knotted at 18 apiece at the end of the first frame after six early three pointers from sophomore Joirdyn Smith.
- Trinity Jones converted on a fastbreak layup as time expired in the first half to cut Benedict's lead to seven points (44-37) headed into the intermission.
- The Lady Panthers outscored the Tigers 26-15 in the third frame to mount a 63-59 lead heading into the fourth frame.
- Trinity Jones scored Clark Atlanta's final five points as the Lady Panthers held on to escape with the 81-79 road victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Lady Panthers logged four players in double figure scoring led by Atreonia Garner with 21 points, Trinity Jones with 19, Joirdyn Smith with 16, and Keyra Peterson with 10 in the win.
- Clark Atlanta shot 51.9% from the field, 50% from three-point range, and 75.9% from the charity stripe.
