Clark Atlanta Wins Fourth-Straight to Close Out 2025 Slate, Smith Scores a Career-High 27 Points

CAU improves to 5-6 overall

ATLANTA — Behind an exhilarating three-point exhibition and a career-high 27 points from Joirdyn Smith, the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers surged to a dominant 96-66 victory over the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians on Wednesday evening at L.S. Epps Gymnasium. With the win, the Lady Panthers close out the 2025 portion of their schedule at 5-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Clark Atlanta's fiery offense set the tone early. After the Magicians opened with a layup, Joirdyn Smith immediately responded by draining a three-pointer to spark the momentum.
  • Kyara Lawrence followed with a quick trip to the basket, converting an and-one play to get Atreonia Garner and the offense rolling on a 10-2 run.
  • The Lady Panthers seized control in the third quarter, exploding for a 14-0 run over four minutes that stretched their lead to 34 points (72-38).
  • The Lady Panthers held on to secure their fourth-straight win and third-straight win of 24 or more points
  • Atreonia Garner led the offensive charge, racking up 28 points on an efficient 13-of-17 shooting from the floor.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Joirdyn Smith provided a massive spark off the bench, showcasing her range by going 7-of-10 from beyond the arc for a career-high 27 points. She also led the defense with six steals and pulled down five rebounds.
  • Kyara Lawrence was a force in the paint, shooting 5-of-10, while Janiah Caples added balance, shooting .571 from the floor with three triples. Five different Lady Panthers finished in double digits as the team surged to an early lead and never looked back.
  • Keyra Peterson contributed from the charity stripe, collecting six of her seven points on free throws.
