Panthers win fourth straight

ATLANTA — Clark Atlanta moved into sole possession of first place in the SIAC Eastern Division with an 83-75 victory over Edward Waters on Saturday night at L.S. Epps Gymnasium.

Jalen Williams led the charge for the Panthers, scoring a team-high 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting while adding eight rebounds. Martez Jones provided a strong inside presence with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Dez'Mond Perkins added 11 points and five boards to help Clark Atlanta (16-8, 13-4 SIAC) extend its winning streak.

Clark Atlanta controlled the pace early, using a 39-point first half to take a three-point lead into the break. The Panthers outscored Edward Waters 42-22 in the paint and capitalized on fast-break opportunities, finishing with 24 transition points.
Edward Waters (16-8, 12-4 SIAC) kept pace behind a stellar performance from Prince Davies III, who scored a game-high 30 points, including four 3-pointers. The Tigers made a late push, tying the game multiple times in the second half, but Clark Atlanta responded each time with key defensive stops and efficient scoring in the final minutes.

Shemani Fuller played a crucial role on the defensive end, recording a game-high five blocks while adding 10 points and five rebounds. The Panthers' bench also stepped up, contributing 26 points, helping to hold off Edward Waters down the stretch.

Clark Atlanta's defensive effort proved to be the difference, as the Panthers outrebounded Edward Waters 34-22 and forced 13 turnovers. Despite 21 turnovers of their own, the Panthers' ability to dominate the glass and control the tempo ensured their victory.

With the win, Clark Atlanta now holds sole possession of first place in the SIAC Eastern Division, inching closer to securing the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
