Clark Atlanta Wins Seventh Straight in Senior Day Victory Over Edward Waters

Lady Panthers inch closer to SIAC East Division title

ATLANTA — Clark Atlanta celebrated Senior Night with a hard-fought victory over Edward Waters, securing a 61-55 win behind standout performances from Atreonia Garner and Amberly Brown.

The night began with high energy as both teams matched each other's intensity. CAU struggled offensively early but relied on strong defense to stay in the game. Following a timeout, the Lady Panthers found their rhythm, using aggressive drives and smart playmaking to take the lead. Garner made a key play under the rim, grabbing her own rebounds before converting an and-one, while Brown knocked down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to extend the lead to eight.

Clark Atlanta maintained momentum in the second quarter, building a 19-11 lead. Defensive stops led to efficient offensive possessions, but Edward Waters responded by outscoring CAU 17-12, cutting the deficit to 31-28 at halftime.

The Lady Panthers faced defensive challenges in the third quarter, but Brown stepped up in crucial moments to keep them in the game. Edward Waters took its first lead late in the fourth, but CAU quickly answered. Tied at 48-48, Edward Waters hit a corner 3-pointer to reclaim the lead. The teams traded baskets before Trinity Jones put Clark ahead with a steal and layup, only for Edward Waters to respond with a reverse layup.

With 3:27 remaining, Garner converted another and-one to give CAU a 57-55 lead. She added four more points in the final minutes to secure the win.

Garner led CAU with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Jones contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Brown delivered a strong Senior Night performance with 12 points, four rebounds, and four blocks.
