ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Tennis Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 25, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week.

Spring Hill) and
Valerie Essome (
Benedict) were recognized.
MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TOM GUTERMANN, SPRING HILL COLLEGE
Junior | Biberach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Gutermann picked up wins in both doubles and singles play on the road at Troy. Both of his victories came on the No. 1 court, first in doubles, 6-4 alongside last week's SIAC Player of the Week, Hugo Blasco Granell. He competed very well against his singles opponent on court one, taking the game to three sets and winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – VALERIE ESSOME, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Junior | Duoula, Cameroon
Benedict's No. 1 player helped the Lady Tigers open SIAC play with a 5-2 victory over Edward Waters. Essome doubled with Carmen Kpadonou for a 6-3 victory at No.1 doubles. In singles action, she tok a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Edward Waters' No. 1 singles player Giulia Peres.
