SIAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors: Sept. 16

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 16, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Benaye Kyle (Fort Valley State), Chloe Edwards (Tuskegee), Reagan Mann (Fort Valley State) and Zariah Messick (Tuskegee) were recognized.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BENAYE KYLE, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | Senior | Birmingham, Ala.
The Wildcats hauled in a pair of sweeps this week with Kyle being an instrumental piece on offense. She tallied 13k kills as a top contributor while added 18 digs and a solo block.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CHLOE EDWARDS, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Defensive Specialist/Libero | Junior | Mansfield, Texas
Edwards anchored the Tuskegee defense with 27 digs, averaging 4.5 digs per set. She consistently kept plays alive and added nine assists and an ace to her stat line. Edwards' reliability in the back row was vital to Tuskegee's strong defensive showing, as the team held opponents to just a .084 hitting percentage.

SETTER OF THE WEEK – REAGAN MANN, FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Setter | Freshman | Decatur, Ga.
Mann was the Wildcats leading setter this week through two, three-set matches. She nabbed 34 assists to lead the team as well as three service aces and nine digs.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – ZARIAH MESSICK, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | Junior | Houston, Texas
Messick made an immediate impact for the Golden Tigers, posting 16 kills over two matches for a 2.67 kills-per-set average while hitting .222. She added 16 digs (2.67 per set) and two blocks, showcasing her all-around ability. Her strong debut was key in helping Tuskegee start the season 2-0.
