ALBANY, Ga. — A strong second-half surge lifted the
Spring Hill College men's basketball team to a 69-66 victory over the
Albany State University Golden Rams Saturday evening in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.

Both teams played even throughout the early moments of the first half. Despite Spring Hill taking a 7-3 lead with 16:09 on the clock thanks to a layup from
Amaan Sanni, the game was tied 15-15 with 9:07 until the half.
Albany State took control briefly and pushed to a six-point advantage with 4:38 until halftime at 25-19. The Badgers battled back and took the lead, 27-25, with 1:55 to go after a jumper from
Alvin Cole. However, the Golden Rams scored the final seven points of the period and took a 32-27 lead to the locker room.
By 16:02 on the second half clock, ASU went ahead by 10 points after free throws from Jeremiah Edwards moved the score to 45-35. However, Spring Hill went on a 14-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from
Brian Harris, to take a 49-45 advantage with 10:58 to go
The Golden Rams responded with a 9-2 run to take a brief three-point, 54-51 lead. Harris hit a jumper and three throws to give Spring Hill the final lead change of the night at the 6:45 mark as the Badgers went on top 56-54.
The Badgers led by as much as seven points, and Albany State cut the lead to 67-66 with nine seconds left. However,
Collin Coates hit a pair of free throws to clinch the 69-66 victory.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Amaan Sanni led all scorers with 23 points while adding five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.
- Rocco Lamuno posted 17 points, eight rebounds, six steals, and an assist. Brian Harris rounded out double-digit scorers with 14 points.
- The Badgers shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) from the floor, 18.8 percent (3-of-16) from beyond the arc, and 90.9 percent (20-of-22) at the free throw line.
- SHC's bench outscored ASU 14-3, and the Badgers won in the paint, 36-28.
