Balanced Scoring Effort Lifts Clark Atlanta Past Miles, 66-60

Clark Atlanta improves to 12-5 overall

ATLANTA — A balanced scoring effort led by Darnell Evans' team-high 13 points pushed the Clark Atlanta Panthers past the SIAC West leading Miles College Golden Bears, 66-60, on Thursday night inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
·       Both teams found themselves knotted at 10 apiece when Clark Atlanta went on a 10-0 run to take a 20-10 lead with seven minutes left in the first half.
·       Chase Hill and Jaden Martin poured in four points apiece down the stretch, giving the Panthers a six-point advantage headed into the intermission.
·       Clark Atlanta opened the second half with a vengeance, pushing their lead to as muchas 16 points (53-37) midway through the final half.
·       Golden Bears battled back to cut the deficit the 57-54 with four minutes left to play.
·       Jaden Martin scored four points in the final four minutes followed by Darnell Evans with a pair of clutch free throws to down Miles College 66-60.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
·       The Panthers defensive effort led to Miles College shooting just 32-percent from the field and a disappointing 8-percent from three point range.
·       Darnell Evans led the scoring effort for Clark Atlanta with 13 points, followed by Chase Hill and Jadyn Shider with 12 apiece, and Jaden Martin with 10 to round out the double figure scorers.
·       Darnell Evans dished out a season-high five assists to add to his 13 points.
·       SIAC-leading blocker Kharye Cayne swatted four shots on the night with five points and six rebounds to add.
·       Clark Atlanta shot an efficient 50-percent from the field and 68-percent from the charity stripe.
