FORT VALLEY, Ga. —
Tuskegee women's basketball continued its strong SIAC play on Thursday evening, going on the road and defeating
Fort Valley State 69-55 at the Health and Physical Education Complex to complete the season sweep of the Wildcats.
Tuskegee set the tone early, opening the game with a 19-11 first-quarter advantage and never trailing for the remainder of the contest. The Golden Tigers leaned on balanced scoring and defensive pressure to control the pace, holding Fort Valley State to just 18.2 percent shooting in the second quarter while extending the lead to double digits at halftime.
Arianna Durrell led all scorers with 19 points, shooting 3-of-8 from beyond the arc and a perfect 8-of-8 at the free-throw line while adding five assists and four steals in 40 minutes of action.
Tenea Robinson followed with 12 points and seven rebounds, while
Breanna Glaze added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including three made three-pointers.
Erin Perry chipped in 10 points and six rebounds, and
Shemaiah Mackin anchored the interior with 12 rebounds to go along with eight points.
Tuskegee widened the gap coming out of the locker room, outscoring Fort Valley State 20-15 in the third quarter to push the lead to 48-33. The Golden Tigers continued to execute offensively in the fourth, converting 11-of-14 from the free-throw line to close out the win.
As a team, Tuskegee finished 22-of-59 from the field, shot 43.8 percent from three-point range, and knocked down 18 free throws. The Golden Tigers won the rebounding battle 47-35 and forced 22 Fort Valley State turnovers, converting them into 24 points.
Fort Valley State was led by Aaniyah Allen, who scored 15 points off the bench, while Reva Johnson added 11 points and seven steals. Kimora Wade contributed nine points, and Marley Bell finished with seven points. The Wildcats shot 19-of-61 from the field and 4-of-18 from three-point range.
With the victory, Tuskegee improves to 11-6 overall and 11-5 in SIAC play, securing a sweep of the season series against Fort Valley State and continuing momentum as conference play rolls on.

Tuskegee returns to SIAC action on the road on Saturday, Jan. 24, when the Golden Tigers travel to Atlanta, Ga., to face Clark Atlanta. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. at L.S. Epps Gymnasium.
