Lane Takes Down Spring Hill, 105-90

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College delivered an offensive showcase Saturday afternoon, defeating Spring Hill College 105–90 in SIAC action at J.F. Lane Gymnasium.

The Dragons shot an efficient 54.4 percent from the field and used a dominant second half to pull away, outscoring Spring Hill 54–42 after taking a narrow 51–48 lead into halftime.

Elijah Lewis turned in a historic performance for Lane, pouring in a game-high 49 points on 17-of-26 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three-point range. He added eight rebounds and three steals, consistently igniting the offense in transition and setting the tone throughout the contest.

Lane also received strong support from Greer Dawson Elijah, who finished with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Jarrell Love chipped in 17 points and eight boards. Xavier Bell added nine points and six rebounds, helping Lane control the paint and the tempo.

The first half featured nine lead changes, with both teams trading runs behind hot perimeter shooting. Spring Hill shot 50 percent in the opening half and led briefly before Lane closed the period on a late surge to take a three-point advantage into the break.

Lane seized control early in the second half, opening with an extended run fueled by defensive pressure and fast-break opportunities. The Dragons finished with a 32–26 edge in fast-break points and scored 31 points off turnovers, capitalizing on Spring Hill miscues to build a double-digit lead midway through the half.

Spring Hill was led by Brian Harris, who scored 27 points and knocked down four three-pointers, while Ruben Bos added 19 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting. Despite shooting 44.4 percent from three-point range, Spring Hill could not keep pace with Lane's balanced scoring and efficiency down the stretch.
