Tuskegee Defeats Central State on the Road, 63–60

WILBERFORCE, Ohio — The Tuskegee men's basketball team earned a hard-fought road victory Tuesday night, defeating Central State 63–60 inside Beacom/Lewis Gymnasium.
 
After a competitive opening half, Tuskegee trailed 35–34 at the end of the first period but mounted a second-half comeback by outscoring Central State 29–25 in the final 20 minutes to secure the three-point victory.
 
Tuskegee was led by Khalil Genwright, who scored 13 points while going 10-for-12 from the free-throw line and added two rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes of action.
 
Kusamae Draper finished with 12 points and six rebounds, hitting four free throws and contributing on both ends throughout the contest. Noah Goines provided a strong offensive spark with 11 points and three rebounds, while Roy Obsaint added 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds to anchor the interior.
 
RJ Walker scored six points, including two three-pointers and added four assists, and Anthony Wright also tallied six points with five rebounds in support of the team effort as Tuskegee's depth was on display in the closing minutes of the contest.
 
Defensively, the Golden Tigers limited Central State to just 60 points and forced key stops down the stretch, while timely free-throw shooting in the second half helped Tuskegee maintain its lead in the final minutes. The resilience and composure shown on the road were key in sealing the victory in Wilberforce.
 
With the win, Tuskegee continues to build momentum in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and will return home for its next matchup.
 
Tuskegee improves its Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record with the victory and will return home to host its next SIAC matchup against LeMoyne-Owen on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
