Tuskegee Secures Road Win at Central State

WILBERFORCE, Ohio — The Tuskegee women's basketball team earned a hard-fought victory on the road Tuesday evening, defeating Central State 52–40 inside Beacom/Lewis Gymnasium.

Tuskegee came out strong and led 12–6 after the first quarter, thanks to early offensive energy and pressure defense.

The Golden Tigers held a 18–16 advantage at halftime as both teams battled through a competitive second quarter. Tuskegee extended its lead in the third quarter with a 15–10 scoring edge and closed out the game with a 19-point fourth period to secure the 12-point road victory.

Tuskegee was led offensively by Arianna Durrell, who scored a game-high 18 points while shooting 5-for-13 from the field, hitting two three-pointers and going 6-for-7 at the free-throw line, adding seven rebounds.

A'Iyonna Kimble contributed six points and a team-high eight rebounds while playing a strong all-around game in the paint. Aaliyah Duranham scored six points and hauled in two rebounds while providing energy off the bench.

Tenea Robinson added six points, connecting 3-for-4 from the field, and Trinity Layton scored five points with a made three and contributed on the boards.

Defensively, Tuskegee limited Central State to 40 points by contesting shots and controlling the defensive glass throughout the game. The Golden Tigers' ability to execute in key moments and maintain defensive discipline helped the road win.

Tuskegee improves its Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record with the victory and will return home to host its next SIAC matchup against LeMoyne-Owen on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
