Clark Atlanta Wins Eighth Straight After Taking Down Allen, 64-61

Clark Atlanta improves to 9-3 overall

ATLANTA — The Clark Atlanta University Panthers won their eighth-straight game on Monday evening as they took down the Allen University Yellow Jackets 64-61 inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium. With the win, Clark Atlanta improves to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in SIAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Darnell Evans and Jadyn Shider combined for Clark Atlanta's final 13 points of the first half to put the Panthers in front 35-34 headed into the intermission.
  • A crucial three-point play from Kalen White with 30 seconds left sealed the deal for the Panthers in their 64-61 win over Allen.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Sam Kodi led Clark Atlanta in scoring with a season-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, one made three, and 2-for-3 from the charity stripe.
  • Darnell Evans also scored in double figures with 11 points, and nine of those came at the free throw line. 
  • Kharye Cayne pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and two blocks. Cayne currently ranks second in the nation in blocks (44) and blocks per game (3.67). 
UP NEXT
The Panthers look to keep their streak alive as they head to Edward Waters on Thursday, January 8, for an 8 p.m. tipoff.
