Lady Panthers improve to 6-7 overall

ATLANTA — The Lady Panthers placed five players in double figures, with Trinity Jones leading the way with a game-high 22 points to power Clark Atlanta past Allen University 94-76 on Monday evening inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Both teams came started fast, trading scores until Allen held a narrow 23-21 advantage at the end of the first frame.
  • Clark Atlanta used a 20-point second quarter to knot the score at 41 apiece going into halftime. 
  • Aanisah Moncrief scored four third-quarter points, but the Panthers found themselves facing a 62-59 deficit going into the final quarter of regulation.
  • The Panthers jolted out 35 points in the fourth quarter to outscore the Yellow Jackets 35-14, securing the 94-76 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Five Lady Panthers scored in double figures, led by Trinity Jones with a game-high 22 points, Aanisah Moncrief with 18, Janiah Ellis with 14, Joirdyn Smith with 12, and Atreonia Garner with 11.
  • Ellis and Garner also led on the boards with seven rebounds apiece. 
  • The Lady Panthers registered an efficient night after shooting 48.6% from the field, 41.7% from long range, and 69.6% from the charity stripe.
UP NEXT
Clark Atlanta returns to action on Thursday, January 8, as they head to the SIAC East division leading Edward Waters Tigers. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
