Miles Opens SIAC Crossover With Two Wins

ALBANY, Ga. — Miles earned its first two conference wins of the season on Friday at the SIAC Roundup, knocking off Allen in four sets (25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 28-26) before pushing past Benedict in five sets at the Jones Brothers Complex. The Lady Bears (7-3, 2-0) have won three straight matches but had to battle back against Benedict after trailing two sets to one. With the deciding set tied at eight, two consecutive kills by Aida Edwards (7-4-24) gave Miles the lead for good. The Tigers then imploded, committing four attack errors and two service errors to gift wrap the victory to the Lady Bears.

Among the Lady Bears to have solid performances over the two matches were Karea Copeland (29 kills, 25 digs), Kori Brown (20 kills, two blocks), Bailey Jones (41 digs), Navaeh Bellamy (10 blocks, two kills) and Alyzia Cola (41 assists, 20 digs).

Miles is back in action on Saturday with matches against Edward Waters at 9:30 a.m. and Savannah State at 5 p.m.
