The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame was established to preserve the history and celebrate the accomplishments of former student athletes and coaches that have excelled on the playing fields, while pioneering integrity, sportsmanship, and character off the field.
The purpose of the SIAC Hall of Fame shall be to establish and uphold the historical artifacts and data of student-athletes, coaches, administrators and key contributors of the conference. These persons have championed success not only as members of the conference, but also from a social, economical, and political standpoint. Additionally, the aforementioned have contributed to the world fame and recognition of member institutions through support of athletic programs at their institutions and life pursuits.
The conference inducted its first Hall of Fame Class in 1992 with 11 members highlighted by NFL Hall of Famer John Stallworth of Alabama State and legendary head coach Cleve Abbott from Tuskegee.
Major Cleve Abbott, who coached Tuskegee to six Black National Championships was inducted to the first SIAC Hall of Fame in 1992.
